Dr.
Johnson's Talking Textbooks
Great
teaching tool for all students-especially for students with
English language challenges, hearing and vision impairments, dyslexia,
and other reading disabilities. The Talking Textbooks are in audio-optical
enhanced electronic format.
PAC
curriculum has converted its easy to use print versions to this new
and powerful electronic edition for Kurzweil 3000T software, so all
the work is done for you! The student sees and hears the text. The
activities, quizzes, and tests will also soon be in this format. The
reading/hearing speed control feature in Kurzweil 3000T allows the student
to select a comfortable or challenging reading speed (click
here for system requirements). Kurzweil's visual and auditory
highlighter carries
the reader's eyes across the page, allowing the student to
pause at any point to repeat a sentence, phrase, word or activity question.
Font size and volume can be adjusted to accommodate sight or hearing
conditions. Words can be translated from English to Spanish,
German, Italian, Dutch and French.
Students using
Dr. Johnson's Talking Textbooks have increased reading skills and
interest in learning, enabling students to pass state assessment exams. Special
education teachers use Talking Textbooks to satisfy IEP modifications
for mainstream compliance. Classroom teachers can help students
feel comfortable in regular classrooms or labs by prescribing
core subjects on the PC-based Talking Textbooks.
Your special education and ESL students will look forward to every audio-optical
enhanced course from PAC! Look at what an ESL student said:
"Now
I understand; I can graduate!"
Dr.
Johnson's Talking Textbooks are an excellent economical resource
for special education programs and accelerated, individualized systems
where teacher shortages and student learning styles demand electronic
delivery format. PAC provides training on implementing accelerated
programs and curriculum-with or without the Talking Textbooks.
